About me
I love my job. I consider it a privilege to be invited into people's worlds and to work collaboratively with them to get a better understanding of their problems, and to consider ways to move forward.
I use a variety of evidence-based approaches within CBT including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Meta-cognitive Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Cognitive behavioural therapy explores what we think and do, and how this makes us feel. Often the most impactful work occurs between sessions when the individual makes their own changes and observations in relation to our therapy work. It is important to enable the client to be the expert in their own mental health and such a rewarding process to be part of.
I am fully accredited the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) and have more recently began my COSCA qualification in clinical supervision to allow me to support other therapists.
