Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy explores the connection between our thoughts, feelings, physical reactions and behaviours. Our life experiences often influence the view we have of ourselves, the world, and others. On some occasions, our threat system can go into overdrive and we can't quite identify why.

 

CBT is a client led talking therapy that compassionately explores past experiences in relation to current problems. Using guided self-discovery, it focuses on positive changes that can be made in the present. This can involve re-framing thoughts, accepting difficult emotions, and experimenting with personal behavioural goals.
